Seeing an otter for the first time was an incredible experience. This animal is a bucket list photograph for many photographers. I must admit that it was not originally on my list, but it has since become a favorite animal and photography experience. This is part of why I love photography so much. It has a unique way of surprising you. The world changes when you watching it through a camera lens. When you watch an animal long enough through a camera lens, you learn some amazing thing that you would have otherwise not noticed. One of my favorite otter facts is that mothers with wrap their young in kelp floating at the ocean surface and also attached to the ocean floor. Mothers leave to collect food and know just where to return to their young. It is a bit like an otter daycare. This photo was take in Kachemack Bay, AK.
